In Sudan, with UNICEF support, the National Council for Child Welfare organized Day of Prayer and Action for Children celebrations in collaboration with the Ministry of Guidance and Wagf (and under the auspices of the Minister). A press release was issued to commemorate the day while a number of activities – including a talk about the rights of children in Islam, exhibitions, a carnival and special prayers for children – took place in late November. Participants from 14 states were invited to Khartoum to join some 40 imams and celebrities.
